If you have a passion for helping students connect to God and to navigate life, we’d love to talk to you. We are seeking a part-time Director of Youth Ministry to provide leadership for students in grades 6-12. This role is crucial to ensuring that young people develop vital relationships and a vibrant spiritual life.

Leading a combined youth group from multiple churches is a fresh adventure! Four south Charlotte United Methodist churches (Sedgefield, SouthPark, St. Andrews, and Woodlawn) are joining together to create a vibrant youth ministry. South Charlotte is one of the most exciting and fastest growing communities in the country.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate a combined youth program for four United Methodist churches
  • Establish relationships with existing students and their families
  • Establish an environment in which students feel comfortable bringing their friends
  • Plan and lead a weekly youth group gathering (Christian education, social/fun time, etc.)
  • Plan and lead up to three retreats/mission & outreach trips per year
  • Attend worship in the four churches on a rotational basis on Sunday mornings, interacting with youth and their families
  • Plan and lead Confirmation
  • Ensure that the student safety requirements are met
  • Attend supervision meetings with the Youth Council

Expected time commitment of 20-25 hours per week

Pay: $23,000.00 - $25,000.00 per year
