Did you know that 720 million people including 150 million children in the world do not get enough food to lead a healthy life? Malnutrition is the single largest contributor to disease in the world. School feeding programs can help prevent hunger, increase school enrollment, reduce absenteeism, and improve learning outcomes.
We have the opportunity to make a positive impact in the world by packaging 10,000 meals on May 1st, partnering with Rise Against Hunger, a non-profit organization that is committed to ending world hunger. In 1998, Ray Buchanan — a United Methodist minister — founded Stop Hunger Now; rebranded to Rise Against Hunger (RAH) in 2017. 2.8+ million lives impacted in 2020; and more than 543+ million total meals have been packaged to benefit 78 countries.
Sign up below or in the Crossroads to participate in this fun church event. There are opportunities to help with unloading the supplies and setup (1-3PM), to pack meals (3-5PM) and to pack up the supplies and clean-up (5-6PM). Ages 5 and up are welcome.

Be the Bridge 101: Foundational Principles Every White Bridge-Builder Needs to Understand
Sundays at 11:30am - SPC: 4th floor. Lunch and Learn. Dates: March 6 – April 10
Facilitated by Debby Coles and Pastor Lindsay Rich. (Free boxed lunch and childcare provided with RSVP)
Join us as we learn about how we can build bridges across racial lines. This group is designed to help people develop curiosity and interrogate “whiteness”: what it is, how it functions, and what we can do to prevent the harm that can come from it. This group will discuss why this topic matters as followers of Jesus and help us to take an honest look at where we are individually and collectively so that we can pursue justice for people who have been marginalized because of race and unity for us all. Learn more here.
Study Group 2:
Lectionary Gatherings for Lent
Thursdays 7:00 - 7:30pm - SPC: 2nd floor art gallery. Dates: March 3 – April 7. Facilitated by Carmen Gray and Brad Thomas.
Throughout church history, followers of Jesus have used Lent - the 40 day season before Easter – to help prepare to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection. This study group invites you to join us as we read selected passages of Scripture together from the Revised Lectionary and experience brief, meaningful gatherings to include live acoustic worship and prayer. We hope you will join us! Questions? Call Carmen at 704-779-1539.

Walking the Path
Mondays 7:00pm, SPC: 4th floor. Led by Pastor Lindsay Rich. Dates: March 7 – April 4.
In the final week of his life, Jesus showed us the greatest love. Join us for a Bible study with Pastor Lindsay where we will look at stories taken from the last week of Jesus’ life. With a brief Bible teaching, spaces for interactive reflection, and opportunities for discussion, we’ll ask the question: What does the path of love that Jesus took for us tell us about the path of love we are called to take today?
The Explorers Ministry is getting together for some fun! This is a totally free event for all, including lunch! We'll be meeting at the picnic shelter at Carmel Road Neighborhood Park on Good Friday, April 2, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.

We can't wait to see you there!
Christmas is fast approaching and what a wonderful time to help our families in need at Pinewood Elementary with gifts for their children. SouthPark Church will provide gifts for 20 children in the Pinewood School family that would otherwise not have Christmas gifts under their tree. We would like for each child to receive at least one toy, a jacket, a shirt, a pair of pants, and a pair of shoes. You may want to sign up for all these items for one child, or ask someone to join you in purchasing items for one child; or this is an opportunity that a small group may be interested in. If you want to purchase items for a child but cannot purchase all the items, no worries, just purchase what you can. All gifts should unwrapped and delivered to Pat Franklin or Cheryl Brooks no later than December 9. Delivery instructions will be sent via email to you after you sign up. What a great way to begin our Christmas season!
After 3.5 years in the Frontier, we are close to opening the new campus to reach SouthPark for Jesus! It is important that we are ready to do so, putting our best foot forward. I need your help.
On Sundays, December 6 and 13 from 4-6 PM we will offer training in the new building for our hospitality and usher ministries. This is our front line, the first people our guests get to meet! It is important we know what to do in our new space, and that we are ready to hit the ground running.
If you feel led to help someone take the first step in finding life to the full in Jesus by providing a warm welcome, please join me at oneof the following sessions in the new campus: December 6 and 13, 4-6 PM. I look forward to seeing you and to serving together!
You can park in the first floor of the parking garage! Enter through Morrison Road. Click here to get directions.

This is the place to complete your 2021 Estimate of Financial Giving.
2020 has been the pits - let’s leverage what we can for a night of connection around fire pits! Gathering in backyards across the city, you’re invited to join the SouthPark Church family at a backyard gathering for s’mores and fun. We’ll be assigning everyone to create mixed, fun groups around Charlotte.

After signing up, Pastor Lindsay will connect with you about further event details including which backyard you’ll be attending and anything else you need to know. Feel free to contact her directly below or include a comment on your sign-up.
If its rainy, we’ll reschedule for October 30 from 7-8pm.

God is generous to us, providing family, friends, sunsets, the ability to make a difference, and much more. Ultimately,God even gave us his son, Jesus so that we can have life to the full and everlasting! Generosity is a core value at SouthPark Church. Since we are created in God’s image - and since God is a big giver - it is in our DNA to be generous. We give back to God with our time and our financial resources.
My hope is that you will consider doing three things:
1. Give financially to support the SPC ministries
2. Serve God in at least one area within the church
3. Serve God in your everyday life outside of SPC
If you are currently serving in a SPC ministry, thank you! Please continue doing so in 2020. If you are not yet involved in one of our ministries, or if you are looking to expand your service at SPC, I ask you to consider the ministries listed below. These are the key areas which need additional help heading into 2020, as we look forward to moving into our new campus!
It is a privilege to give and to serve alongside you. Thank you for being part of our efforts to help people discover life to the full in Jesus and for being a part of SouthPark Church!
-Pastor Kyle

God is a foodie who wants to transform your supper into sacrament. This groundbreaking study provides a culinary exploration ofScripture. Author and presenter, Margaret Feinberg, goes on a remarkable journey to unearth God's perspective on food. With each visit, Margaret asks, "How do you read these Scriptures, not as theologians, but in light of what you do every day?" Their answers will forever change the way you read the Bible -and approach every meal. Perhaps God's focus on food is meant to do more than satisfy our stomachs. It's meant to heal our souls, as we learn to taste and see the goodness of God together.
Facilitator: Mayreese Koraly
Sundays at 4 pm – location TBD
Cost: $10
You have approximately 936 weeks from the time your child is born until he or she graduates from high school. It goes by fast, and kids change and grow quickly. It’s as if they shift or move on just as you begin to figure them out. It can make the responsibility to shape a child’s faith and character feel overwhelming.
The Phase Project synthesizes personal experience, academic research, and hours of focus groups with leaders to provide parents with exactly what they need to make the most of each phase in their kid’s life. This group will help you discover what’s changing about your kid over the next 52 weeks, the six things your kid needs most, and four conversations to have with your kid while they are in each phase.
Facilitator: Jolinda Boelkins

Come help us give children grades 2-8 the amazing opportunity to be a part of the drama & music camp! We’re putting on a week of camp and we’d love your help to make it happen. The week of camp will include rehearsals for a musical to be performed the following Sunday, August 26th at 4:00pm. During the camp, children will be able to attend classes, such as introduction to guitar or piano for grades 2-5, or acting and set design for grades 6-8. The children will also learn songs and scripture that will stay with them for a lifetime. This year's musical is called, "The Big Inning" and is baseball themed. The spiritual lesson is that the Hall of Faith (Hebrews 11) were just regular people, but they had faith in God, so God used them to do amazing things. Register to help us make camp happen and make a difference in a child’s life this summer!
