Haiti Water Missions Trip

March 11, 2018

Do you want to be a part of our water projects in Haiti? We have an exciting opportunity to join some 4-6 Ballantyne Rotary folks on a trip to Haiti, leaving Wednesday April 11 and returning Monday April 16. The purpose of the trip is to visit four existing clean/safe water projects that Ballantyne Rotary has funded and to visit other sites to explore if clean water systems are possible and how to best utilize the money contributed by SouthPark Church and matched ($2.50 to $1) by Rotary International. This will be the first of multiple trips to Haiti. Tom Harmon delivered a message on Dec 17th and spoke about how much his first trip to Haiti impacted him and made a difference in his life. God is doing amazing things in Haiti through Tom and the Ballantyne Rotary and now Southpark Church working with Water Missions. Are you interested in representing SouthPark Church as we begin this incredible journey of providing clean water to the Bayonnaise area of Haiti? A few details to consider: Travel expenses will be approximately $1000 per person for airfare and accommodations and paid by the individuals going. A passport is required. See your personal physician to ensure immunizations are up-to-date and for an anti-malaria medication. Deadline for signing up is: March 11, 2018 (assuming flights are available) High level itinerary: • Wednesday – Fly American Airlines Charlotte to Miami, Miami to Port Au Prince, then ride to Bayonnaise about 3 ½ to 5 hours, visit OFCB School and Clinic • Thursday – early morning hike to Nicholas and afternoon Rotary Meeting • Friday – visit Pacot and hike to Zarange • Saturday – visit with the village • Sunday – worship and rest • Monday – travel to Port Au Prince (PAP) for flights back to Charlotte. • On Wednesday or Monday, visit Water Missions office in PAP if time allows.
